Al Balagh, in partnership with Larsen & Toubro, constructed the 40,000-seater air-cooled Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium (Al-Rayyan Stadium), one of the venues selected to host matches for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. This iconic stadium boasts world-class facilities, innovative design, and impeccable craftsmanship, creating an extraordinary setting for football fans from around the globe to witness the pinnacle of sporting excellence.
The Stadium design is inspired by local patterns and dune-like structures, which resemble the sand dunes that surround traditional desert tents. Recognition for the Design: The SC was awarded the Stadium Design of the Year award for Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium (Al-Rayyan Stadium) at the 2016 World Stadium Congress. Construction at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium (Al-Rayyan Stadium) has reached a major milestone following the completion of more than five million man-hours without a ‘Lost Time Accident’.
The major construction safety landmark, which means no injuries that have caused work on-site to be stopped have occurred in over five million hours worked, was celebrated with a ceremony led by Project Manager Abdullah Al Fehani and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) team.
